Ratan tata is an alumnus of Cornell University, United States and holds a degree in Architecture and Structural Engineering. On his homecoming in 1962, he got attached to his family business, without more ado. Since, then Ratan Tata embarked upon a never ending success journey that is still on. He began his vocation as a blue-collar worker in the Tata steel company, Jamshedpur.
His next step on the success ladder was his appointment as director in charge of the NELCO. The company was in a run-down state, but it gained momentum soon after Ratan held the fort.

Ratan was a visionary who has always believed in thinking out of the box. He broke away the stereotype business traditions and made a strong foothold in 1991, when he replaced respectable JRD Tata and steered the Tata Group towards greater avenues of success.

Constantly striving to realize his dreams, while upholding the glory of his erstwhile generations, Ratan formed several group companies under the flagship of Tata Sons. Tatas were major stakeholders in Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Tata Tea and Tata Motors, which also got listed in NSE (New York stock exchange).

Tata motors marked another milestone when their first car TATA Indica was shot to fame in 1998. This invention was a smash hit amid the Indian masses, who got their first very Indian four-wheeler.

One after another, Tata Group was ascending steps on the success ladder. Another remarkable episode that changed the face of Indian corporate arena for good was when Tata Sons acquired the Corus Group, an Anglo-Dutch steel and aluminum conglomerate in January, 2007. This solitary reaper believes in simple living and high thinking.  Domiciled in Mumbai, Ratan Tata resides with his two German shepherd dogs. Despite of being at such tall heights of success Ratan is humble and down-to-earth man who has deep sense of social responsibility and has been actively associated with several causes. He is a great advocate of Parsi clan and is vigorously making efforts to awaken Parsi youth about their religion.
